With nearly 400 guests since since 1991 we've had a lot of feedback. Here are a selection of genuine comments from people who have stayed with us recently. Please feel free to read through their remarks for an impartial view of our villas and holiday experience.

"Villa Anna was excellent value. The information you provided was comprehensive and invaluable in preparing for the holiday and the guide books at the house were well thumbed through by us. Your Dad met us at the airport, gave us lots of advice and ferried us around for the first few days until we had our own hire-car. He was always kind and helpful and gave of his own time to help us whenever he could. He also provided us with bikes for ourselves and the kids. Villa Anna was very comfortable and well equipped for children. The kids loved the outside area with the swing, trees and lots of space to run and cycle around. They also loved all the games, with the Lego and Monopoly proving especially popular. In the area, we liked nice lunches (with a discount!) and delicious ice cream at the Beach Bar at the end of the street, cappucinos and delicious pastries at the Tiffany Bar in Marausa, excellent cheap Nero D'Avola from Cantina Birgi, and very good pizzas from Pizza Chef in Marausa who will deliver free of charge to the house. Further afield, we loved the beach at San Vito and went twice. We also enjoyed Erice and Segesta which are both spectacularly sited. We also liked Trapani which has a lovely mostly pedestrianised old town which is great for wandering around in the early evening and a playground in the garden on the edge of the old town (Villa Margherita I think) to keep the kids happy. Your father did a wonderful job hosting us during our stay, beginning with the first question he asked us "do you ladies like wine?" He took us to cantina Birgi (and oh, how we loved their wine!). We we want to thank you for the welcome-basket, it was wonderful to come in a house and see all the nice things you'd bought for us. The villa was perfect for us - enough space, a good working hot shower, nice garden and roof-terrace and of course the garden BBQ. Thanks also for arranging for us to take a look behind the scenes at Tony's restaurant (BeachBar) and sample Sicilian cooking - all we had to pay for that evening was the wine!. The people in Marausa are WONDERFU! We rented bikes in Marausa and explored the local area, but we also enjoyed the trips further afield with your father and the conversations! Thanks also for all the information before the holiday, and for all the things you did during our holiday. I am sure that we will be back soon (don't change a thing at the villa we love it like it is)." Sara and 3 friends (England) Villa Anna, September 2010 "We had a fantastic stay at Villa Anna, the location of the property is brilliant for the area as you are not very far from any of the major attractions of Western Sicily. We especially liked the fact that there are two very good restaurants within easy walking distance and really enjoyed our evening strolls, especially watching & chatting to the locals as they fished. We arrived on a Sunday and I was pleasantly surprised that the local shops were open, but the welcome pack was very welcome as it meant we could settle in before heading off to explore. We were really pleased with the area of Trapani, this area doesn't seem to feature as much in travel guides as other parts of Sicily but there is something for everyone - beautiful beaches, nature reserve, archeological sites and of course
brilliant local food & wine. We loved Cantina Birgi where they have a very good Nero D'Avola & you can take your own bottles to fill up at
only 78 cents a litre. The only problem we had was when we tried to get to Erice it was too windy for the cable car & the road was closed for a classic car race - we will just have to come back! All in all Villa Anna is a brilliant place to stay and is excellent value for money, Franc & Mario help to you get the most from your stay - the only thing I'd change about the Villa is to get some lie-down sun-loungers (guests earlier this year broke them) as my front was definately browner than my back! It was ideal for the children with all the trees shading them from the heat and the sun. They also loved the toys. We found your father very helpful, bringing us to the supermarket and showing us where we could purchase the local wine. The booking process was excellent. We received excellent information beforehand and during our stay. We will definitely recommend Villa Anna to others. We really hope to return again soon. Thank you both for everything." Your father is a fantastic person who helped and served us in so many ways. My brother-in-law got very ill the day after we arrived and had to be hospitalised. But your father was an angel in all this and helped us with everything, he drove us to the hospital to visit our relative daily. All of my holiday planning went out of the window - but it all worked out well and turned out to be a wonderful week that reminded us about the important things in life. My thanks again to your father who made our week in Marausa so lovely even if we had things to worry about while we were there. I have such warm feelings about Sicily and your house Villa Anna, Tony's place (the Beach Bar Restaurant) and his family who also were very kind and helpful. Our favourite aspects of the holiday were the beach, the trip to Segesta and the delicious seafood! I loved Villa Anna's garden too - All the plants and trees and the much needed shade! Your service, communication and price were all very good. The Villa is very good value for money. We have some suggestions for the bed-arrangements in each room, but these are minor comments, we are very happy about our holiday! "Thanks for a most pleasant stay in Marausa. Your father took good care of us, showed us around and we all liked him very much. We were all pleased to find a good working shower with hot water and nice beds to sleep in. As I enjoy cooking we used your kitchen a lot and there was a good supply of fresh meat, fish and vegetables in the village. The Beach Bar Restaurant was a really nice place and we celebrated our son's birthday there with cous-cous. I definitely recommend staying at your holiday home in Trapani and have already recommended it to our friends and work mates.

The Villa was what we expected, it is in a good location with space for all the family; nice, hot shower; a secure garden without much traffic around; an excellent BBQ grill that we used and enjoyed good meat from the local butchers on; Friendly neighbours that said hello when we passed etc. You did everything we wanted without being “sticky” to us, and provided good information about the area, the local facilities - both by E-mail, in the Villa Manual and most of all through your father. He answered our questions helpfully, suggested attractions to visit, was nearby in case anything went wrong, and brought us some wonderfully tasty mulberries off his trees. The welcome basket (and the Wine!) was much appreciated upon arrival.

Your service I would rate as excellent, just what we wanted and needed. Not to much and not to little and you always left the door open for our further questions. You don’t have to improve anything - keep it going as it is! We enjoyed our holidays, the local environment, the local food and vegetables, the birds and, of course, the local wine. It will be good to hear from you in the future. We'd love to come back in a year or two!"

"Our holiday this Easter defied the credit crunch. We experienced a bespoke Sicilian holiday on a Ryanair budget from start to finish at Villa Anna. We cannot fault you. From the initial point of enquiry by email, we were enormously impressed by the prompt, helpful customer service from Franc in Reading. We were met at Trapani airport by a beaming Mario who acted as our local tour guide and mini golf competitor!

Villa Anna is only 15 minutes drive away from Trapani airport which was a real bonus for us. We decided to get back to basics and didn't hire a car. There are adult bikes at the villa but you organised an additional hired one which was delivered the day before we arrived much to the delight of our 6 year old son. The garden area of the Villa really is quite big and he quickly worked out a circuit that allowed him to cycle into the late evenings very safely as the property is gated and fenced all round.

We felt we got right back to basics and our carbon footprint got a wee boost for the week. We could not have survived without a car without your dad though. He was unbelievably accommodating and we cannot thank him enough for his advice, kindness and disposition. Marausa Lido was quiet given the time of year but La Perla restaurant is approximately a 10 minutes walk away if you want to eat out. The food is exceptional and you can book online in advance of going and save approximately 50%. The town of Marausa itself is only fifteen minutes away by bike on very quiet and safe roads. We cycled in most days to have coffee and cornetti at the gorgeous Tiffany Bar which sells beautiful home made pastries and desserts. We even managed to adopt a friendly dog who used to ride with us all the way into town; wait for us to have coffee and then escort us back down to the Lido before she popped back home over her wall!

The locals are lovely. We got a bit lost on the first day and I asked a gentleman in the café how to get home. From them on he would stop his car and greet us every time we cycled past him and was so keen for us to be having a good time in his town. As we hadn’t hired a car we talked to Mario each night to establish plans for the next day and he went out of his way to ensure that we got there and advised us about the best way to get the most out of each day. We mentioned that we fancied going sailing and he arranged with one of the neighbours (Salvatore, who runs 'Volaturi' windsurfing and sailing school near Marausa) to open up the school early in the season specially and took the four of us out sailing towards the Egadi islands and taught the kids to sail. We then went back and he prepared us all an amazing lunch. He only charged us €40 for the whole day. Truly an unforgettable experience.

Villa Anna and its location steal the show though. There is so much space and almost everything has been thought of for guests. We LOVED the villa. The accomodation was spacious and well appointed. The library is well stocked with lots of guidebooks and pamphlets which give plenty of ideas. The welcome basket of food was a lovely touch when we arrived. We ate out in the front garden every evening and spent lots of afternoons sun bathing upstairs on the terrace.

We cannot recommend this holiday enough! Every day there are possibilities to do different things to keep everyone amused because of the location and whilst we were there in low season we can’t wait to go back when the place is in full swing during the Summer months. Favourite aspect of the holiday - the location, undoubtedly. Being so close to the sea, the city, the countryside and the airport - you could have a beach holiday one day; sunbathing at home the next; not to mention cycling in the rural countryside or shopping and people watching in the city. Your customer service is exemplary. You basically offer a bespoke Sicilian experience on a Ryanair budget. We felt that your Dad was there for us for anything yet he respected out privacy and never impinged upon it. Ben called him Super Mario, with very good reason! Fingers crossed we can return in October but if not we will definitely be back next year. Your Dad needs to be thrashed again at crazy golf by the Scots..."

"Thanks for a super-vacation! Everything was great. We really loved Villa Anna - it has a great cosy atmosphere that makes you feel right at home and we loved the garden with flowers and trees in which our children could play freely and safely. It was more than we expected! We can't think of anything you didn't do well and we rate your service (communication and rental) very highly – answers to questions, prompt email replies, picking us up at the airport, etc etc etc! We visited Trapani, Mount Erice, Segesta, Castellamare del Golfo, Scopello; loved the sun and sea and we really enjoyed the meals at the Marausa Beach restaurant, the fresh fish and the best pastas we've ever eaten..... I'm sure we will return to Marausa!"

We spent a very enjoyable holiday at Villa Anna - the house is situated in a calm part of the resort close to the sea. The garden is great, and the Villa is a functional home and suitable for large families. We really appreciated the hospitality of the owner Mario - he does everything to help you make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Our flight arrived late and in the evening and it was a wonderful surprise to be met by Mario and his beaming smile! We feel our break was too short and hope to come back in summer time in the next couple of years. Excellent value for money. Best regards, see you soon!"

	Ade, Andrew and their 2 families (UK) Villa Anna, July 2009 "When we arrived late at night it was hot; but the flowers I had arranged with you were there and waiting to surprise my wife for her birthday! After exploring the area on foot the next day we had a refreshing swim in the Med. We went up mount Erice by car and saw the lovely panoramic views of Sicily from several hundred feet high and then again as we descended by cable car. The land was well cultivated with water melons, fruit, veg, vineyards and olive trees everywhere. THIS is the real meaning of "organic" - not some
silly label on the tomatoes you buy from Tesco! Our favourite fruit-sellers were a friendly man and his wife with farmland and kiosk by the main road to the airport. Our landlord, driver and tour-guide Mario was very easy-going, helpful and spoke good English. The Sicilian people are uncomplicated, friendly and helpful. Despite not speaking the language, with the help of neighbours we bought fish, giant
prawns and vegetables from the mobile shops that visited the villa some mornings. The siesta between 1-4pm worked in our favour as the beaches were almost empty for us as temperatures reached 30°+. Our kids had a wonderful time playing football with the local boys and
girls and riding on their bikes - even late at night. We had a lovely time and the experience will remain with us forever. I especially enjoyed swimming in the Mediterranean. Once again, thanks for making your villa available to us at such an affordable price, and for helping us make memories for our children. Gesu ti ama!"

"On our first visit to Sicily back in 1977, the attractions were outweighed by the petty mafia; but on this second trip we saw just the good and we'll be back soon. With maps from your website it was easy to find the villa, and the maps and guidebooks in the house made it easy to plan trips by car. Our favourite was Lo Zingaro Nature Reserve, 2 days out of 7! Local towns and the ancient Segesta and Selinunte were great to walk in (driving !!). Marausa has a friendly bakers and grocers (he told me the tomatoes were even better in August). Next time we'll try the bike shop to hire some as the villas are closer to the village by the dirt track than the main road. The station is not much further, so the train could take the strain. The villa was homely, but we don't have crazy golf at home, so were not as practiced as Mario."

Our 6 days in villa Anna were excellent. You picked us up from the airport and took us on day trips or short visits when we asked - a huge saving on hiring a car ourselves. The villa was clean and simple, the sun roof a treat (early Feb while temperatures were below zero in England!) and the garden very pleasant. We have already recommended the villa to our friends in Reading."

"Amber and I had a wonderful holiday. In fact the best overseas holiday I can remember! We found the villa to be very comfortable and homely. Whilst we were there your father showed us around and explained all of the controls. Although I have been thinking about it, I can't think of any way our stay could have been improved.
