Car hire is Recommended |

Sicily
is much bigger than you think at 25,708 sq km (9,926sq miles), imagine
a triangle joining Bristol, London and Manchester. Sicilian public transport
outside of big towns in summer is reliable but not very frequent - so
hiring a car is a recommended. As with most foreign car hire deals, it can be costly to arrange once there - so book it before you travel. All major companies are represented at Trapani (TPS) and Palermo (PMO) airports and we recommend we recommend GB£ Sterling guests contact Romolo Rotulo's ATOL bonded Romeo Travel Agency as he can often get you a cheaper price than the internet. Use the links below to obtain a rough idea of the likely cost and then give him a call on 01296 489 190 or email romeotvl@aol.com. MaviRent, NoloMania and Maggiore are local and Italian companies. |

Driving
in Sicily itself is not as bad as you may think. Ooutside towns the
roads are not very busy. We offer our booking guests our exclusive PDF
downloads which contain advice for driving in Sicily alongside instructions
on how to navigate from both Palermo and Trapani airports to the villas.

But
if you Dont Hire a Car...tell us beforehand! |
| If you decide not to hire car, please be aware that public transport exists but has its limitations. If you rent Villa Anna, we have 4 bicycles for you to use - or you can hire other bikes and mopeds from NonSolo Cicli in Marausa. For a contribution towards petrol we're happy to take you grocery shopping. Whilst we cannot transport large groups, if agreed at the time of booking we can normally arrange to transport couples and small families to and from the bus stops in Marausa town, the railway station and Bus station in Trapani. (Check the Your Holiday section for costs/details). |

| There
are local bus services linking the Marausa Lido resort with Marausa
town, Paceco, and Trapani, but times vary according to day of the weeka
nd time of year. Tobacconists and Newsagents sell tickets for both ATM
and AST Bus routes which must be validated in the machines on board
the bus as soon as you get on. The tickets cost around €1 and are valid
for about 2 hours, regardless of how many buses you catch. Although
we do have some bikes for you to use during your stay at Villa Anna,
more robust mountain bikes and mopeds can be hired in Marausa town.
On the Egadi islands, Mopeds/bikes can be hired from quayside shops.
Visitors to the city of Trapani can buy the new 'Trapani Welcome Card'
from various outlets - which offers unlimited travel on urban buses;
one free return trip to Erice by cable-car, ferry ticket discounts to
the Egadi Islands, money off museum and cantina entry and much more.
The card is valid for 3 days and currently costs €8. For the more
